UNESCO-Weltkulturerbe
Die
Wieskirche wurde von 1745 bis 1754 von den Brüdern
Johann Baptist und
Dominikus Zimmermann erbaut. Wegen der Architektur, aber
vor allem wegen
ihrer Lage gilt sie als eine der berühmtesten
Barockkirchen Deutschlands.

The
Pilgrimage Church of Wies was built by the brothers
Johann Baptist and
Dominikus Zimmermann between 1745 and 1754.
Not only due to its
Rococo
architecture but also due to its location it is one of
the most famous
Baroque churches in Germany.
The Wieskirche was added to the
UNESCO
World Heritage List in 1983 and underwent extensive restoration
between 1985 and 1991.
