Der
Limes zog sich durch Südwest-Deutschland, wo man an vielen
Stellen
noch Überreste bzw. rekonstruierte Teile sehen kann, wie den rekonstruierten
Limes-Turm des in
Osterburken. Im Taunus wurde die
Saalburg als Kastell
wieder rekonstruiert.
Sights in Germany -
The
Limes was the Roman
border defense wall that protected
the
Roman Empire from the
Germanic tribes in
present day Southwest Germany.
Remaining parts of it can be found in
many locations. Reconstructed sections can be
visited, like the tower of
the Buch castra. In the
Taunus mountains the
Saalburg
was
reconstructed between 1895 and 1900.
